Died-At his home in Luling, Saturday, February 12, at 6 p.m. W. D. V. McLean, aged 71 years, 3 months and 15 days. The funeral services took place at 1 o'clock at the residence and the interment at 4 o'clock at the Stockton cemetery, six miles south of the city. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen in this section, many attending from a distance. Mr.mMcLean was a veteran of two wars, having served gallantly in the Mexican war and also in the late war as a member of Wood's cavalry, and was from that command transferred to the Twentieth Texas infantry, with which he served to the close of the hostilities.
